Now Christmas and the New Year break is well behind me, I’m looking ahead to the next few weeks and months.
Plenty going on, including two trips out to speak at conferences and seminars.
On 5 February I’ll be up in Birmingham at the LGComms seminar on new media. I’ll be talking about our experiences at Medway: “What has worked, what hasn’t – what lessons we have learned” as well as participating in several panel discussions.
This seminar is free to LGComms members and £50 to non-members. For more info and to book email lgcommunications@westminster.gov.uk.
Then on 19 March I’ll be running an interactive “social media hints and tips” workshop at the Association of Colleges Communications Annual Conference 2009 in London. For more information and to book visit the AoC website.
As ever it’ll be great to meet delegates attending these conferences, learn more about what other people are up to and catch up with some familiar faces.
In particular in Birmingham it’ll be good to spend more than the five minutes I spent with Dave Briggs last time I was up there, as well as being great to meet Nick Booth too.
At the AoC conference I’m particularly looking forward to seeing Philip Young and Chris Rushton from the University of Sunderland again – they spoke at the first social media conference I ever went to and, along with the other speakers, inspired me about how social media is changing the business of communications and marketing for good.
If you’re going to either of these events, leave me a comment or get in touch.
