I’m going to Delivering the New PR

Friday, October 6th, 2006 at 8:49 pm

Hello - welcome to my website.

On my blog I write about marketing, public relations and digital communications. To keep up-to-date with my posts you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or sign-up to receive blog posts by email.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you find my site useful.

I’m pleased to say that I’m going to be going to the Delivering the New PR conference in London on Friday, 10 November 2006.

It’s going to be a great opportunity to learn from some people who I’ve already learnt a lot from reading their blogs (Stuart Bruce, Tom Murphy, Elizabeth Albrycht) and listening to their podcasts (Neville Hobson).

I’m sure I’ll get a lot more out of seeing them present and hopefully getting a chance to engage in some discussions about putting social media tools into practice.

Plus PR Blogger Stephen Davies is going so hopefully I’ll get to meet him as well - I’ve read his blog for some time now and have exchanged emails with him.

From what I’ve heard from previous delegates and looking at the calibre of the speakers this should be an excellent event - I’m certainly really looking forward to it.

Great news Simon. Looking forward to meeting you too. Could meet up for a drink afterwards.

P.S. This is the first time (now second) I’ve posted a comment on a blog using my mobile. Cool.

  • Simon Wakeman

Thanks Stephen - a drink sounds good - will drop you a line nearer the time. What software do you use for commenting from your mobile?

  • Stephen Davies

Just my Sony Ericsson K800i’s standard browser. I received an email notification of your trackback through Gmail mobile, followed the url which led me to this post and simply texted in the comment. Easy.

I used to have an SPV c550 but that wouldn’t allow me to do it.

Looking forward to meeting you in London.

Simon Wakeman

I've been on the web since 2001 and have been blogging about marketing and public relations since January 2006.

I'm currently Head of Marketing at Medway Council as well as a freelance marketing and PR consultant.

The content and opinions expressed on this website are not endorsed by nor reflect the views of any company or organisation I work with.

I highly recommend Simon. He is an experienced marketing manager with excellent digital channel skills. He thinks strategically, is exceptionally reliable - always delivering on time and with good quality - and is also a good team player…It was great to have him on the team at Egg. Wendy Schratz, Egg
