A bit slow in posting this as it’s been a hectic week, but earlier in the week I attended the UK Public Sector Communications Awards seminar.
As part of the seminar I delivered a presentation on “Public sector communications in 2015 – an unaffordable luxury?” which explored the nature of change in the public sector and what communicators need to do to ensure they actively contribute to the future of public service delivery. It was the first outing for a new presentation I’d been deveoping for a while so I was pleased to get such positive feedback in the room and on Twitter.
In October the shortlists for the awards themselves were announced, and the team was really pleased to be shortlisted in six categories – every one we’d entered – making Medway the most shortlisted council at the awards.
I was even more pleased for the team that we won the Insight Award which recognised the “creation of a campaign that reflects knowledge and understanding of its target audience” for our Love Medway campaign.
Fingers crossed for more success in the future for the team!
