A few conference dates on the horizon for me:
Next Thursday, 19 March I’m speaking at the Association of Colleges communications conference at the Inmarsat Conference Centre, London. I’ll be running a one hour workshop on social media hints and tips.
Then on Wednesday, 1 April I’ll be at the Barbican Centre in London for the final instalment of the Don’t Panic Guide to Social Media. There’s a really strong and varied line-up of speakers from the PR world, both private and public sector. I’ll be talking about social media in local government communications.
Between 6 and 8 April I’ll be contributing to an interesting online conference facilitated by IdEA called “Councillors Connected”. The conference will focus on how councillors in particular and councils in general can make appropriate use of new media tools and techniques. It takes place online on the Communities of Practice platform – more information here.
Looking a bit further ahead I’ll be in Manchester on Thursday, 30 April at the Public Sector Forums event “Effective Social Media & Web 2.0 Strategies for Local Authorities“. I’ll be talking about “Social media: a revolution in local government communications”. Other speakers confirmed so far include Dave Briggs and Tim Davies.
If you’re going to any of these events, drop me a line or leave me a comment – it’s always nice to meet people face to face!
