More interesting stuff on the web

Friday, November 14th, 2008 at 8:00 pm

Hello - welcome to my website.

On my blog I write about marketing, public relations and digital communications. To keep up-to-date with my posts you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or sign-up to receive blog posts by email.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you find my site useful.

Here’s some more interesting content I’ve found on the web recently:

  • MMA study finds increase in mobile marketing receptiveness - The Mobile Marketing Association annual study finds increase in mobile marketing receptiveness and Adoption Global Study. It also provides insight into consumer attitude and usage for Mobile Marketing in selected markets World-wide
  • Survey: Youth Are Willing Companions to Online Advertisers - A new study shows that many young adults not only buy brands but also talk about them and add brand content to their instant messenger services, Web homepages and social networking sites.
  • Age before beauty: Look before you leap into social media - Despite the many industry voices that herald the importance of social and multi-media content in e-mail marketing, only 12 per cent of UK consumers claim they would be more likely to respond to messages linked to video, micro-sites and social networking sites such as Facebook and YouTube.
  • If RSS Is Niche Media, Why Use It? - Really Simple Syndication (RSS), which lets consumers subscribe to automatically updated content, is not exactly the most popular digital marketing tactic in use today.

Simon Wakeman

I've been on the web since 2001 and have been blogging about marketing and public relations since January 2006.

I'm currently Head of Marketing at Medway Council as well as a freelance marketing and PR consultant.

The content and opinions expressed on this website are not endorsed by nor reflect the views of any company or organisation I work with.

I highly recommend Simon. He is an experienced marketing manager with excellent digital channel skills. He thinks strategically, is exceptionally reliable - always delivering on time and with good quality - and is also a good team player…It was great to have him on the team at Egg. Wendy Schratz, Egg

Simon is an analytic and strategic thinker who is able to communicate his ideas and insights clearly. He was able to bring unique and important perspectives on customer touchpoints to the various teams we worked within…and was always able to motivate for successful new customer programs based on robust data.
