CIPR Northern Conference

Monday, May 28th, 2007 at 8:20 pm

Welcome to my website. On my blog I write about marketing, public relations and digital communications. To keep up-to-date with my posts you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or sign-up to receive blog posts by email.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my site.

Next month I’ll be running a workshop session at CIPR’s Northern Conference in Newcastle.

The conference takes place on Thursday, 21 June and features some interesting keynote speakers such as Paul Corley, (GMTV Managing Director, GMTV) and Graham Goodkind (Frank PR, Chairman), plus a broad range of workshop sessions.

I’ll be talking about how the team at Medway Council conceived and launched the UK’s first podcast from a local authority: the Mixit Podcast.

The workshop will explore how a public sector organisation can use podcasting effectively as part of its communications mix. We’ll also talk about some of the challenges of implementing a new communications tool, such as podcasting, in an organisation which has not previously used social media.

The conference takes place at St James Park in Newcastle. More information is available here or check out the full programme. Book your place online here.

If any readers are going to the conference do let me know - it’d be great to meet up face to face over a coffee. I’m also looking forward to meeting fellow speaker and PR blogger Stephen Davies - another blogger who I’ve not yet had the chance to meet properly.
