London to Brighton bike ride 2006

Hello - welcome to my website.
On my blog I write about marketing, public relations and digital communications. To keep up-to-date with my posts you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or sign-up to receive blog posts by email.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you find my site useful.
Just got a pack in the post confirming my place on the London to Brighton bike ride 2006 (www.bhf.org.uk) - a 58 mile bike ride on Sunday, 18 June with more than 30,000 riders taking part.
I’m riding with my Tinderhouse colleague Nick Tatt, and am doing it all for fun and to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
We’re starting training this weekend, as the event is less than two months away and 58 miles seems like a very long way to ride.

How Did you get on? - I am taking part this year (2007), so it would be good to hear any feedback.
Thanks,
Paul

Paul - thanks for the comment. We completed the ride by about 5pm - it was really hot so plenty of water stops, plus some serious bike congestion at some points on the route.
There’s a huge hill up to Ditchling Beacon just outside Brighton, then a wonderful downhill stretch into Brighton where I managed to hit 40mph on my mountain bike!
I’ve entered again this year for an 8am start time. I’ve been doing around 20miles each week on the bike since the last ride so should be in better shape than last year.
Good luck!
